Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to build my website?
Timelines can vary depending on the type of website and how quickly I receive your content, but as a general guide:
One-page websites: around 0-2 weeks
One-page Plus: around 1-2 weeks
Multi-page websites: around 4–6 weeks
If you’re on a tight deadline, let me know — I may be able to offer an express option!
What do I need to provide before we start?
To get started, I’ll need:
Your logo and branding (if you have them)
Images you’d like to use
Website text (don’t worry, I’ll guide you on exactly what’s needed)
Your domain name details if you already have one — or I can help you get set up
You’ll receive a super helpful client form to guide you through all of this, and I’m always here to help if you’re stuck!
Can I update my website myself after it’s finished?
Absolutely! All websites are built in Squarespace, which is really user-friendly and easy to update. I’ll give you guidance on how to make simple edits to your text and images, so you’re fully in control without needing to hire someone for every small update.
What’s the difference between a One-page, One-page Plus, and Multi-page website?
One-page website: A beautifully designed, single scrolling page covering all the essentials — perfect for getting online quickly and professionally.
One-page Plus: A one-pager with extra sections (like services, testimonials, FAQs, or a booking form) — for when you need a little more space to share what you do.
Multi-page website: A site with separate pages for things like services, about, contact, blog, shop, and more — ideal if you have more to share or want to grow.
What if I’m not sure which type of website I need?
No problem at all! You can take my quick quiz to help figure out the best option for you, or just get in touch for a chat and I’ll guide you through what would work best for your business and goals.
What platform will my website be built on?
All websites are designed in Squarespace — a beautiful, user-friendly platform that makes it easy for you to manage and update your own site without needing to know any code.
Do I need a Squarespace subscription?
Yes — to make your website live, you’ll need an active Squarespace subscription. Prices typically start from around £TBD–£TBD per month, depending on which plan you choose (monthly or annual). I’ll help you choose the right plan based on what features you need (e.g., booking system, e-commerce, blog).
Which Squarespace subscription plan will I need?
It depends on what you want your site to do! Here’s a quick guide:
Personal plan: Great for simple one-page websites or small service-based businesses without e-commerce or booking.
Business plan: Needed if you want extra features like custom forms, booking system, or e-commerce. Most clients go with this one.
Commerce plans: For full online shops with advanced selling features.
Don’t worry — I’ll guide you on what’s best for you when we start.
Is the Squarespace subscription included in your website price?
No — Squarespace subscription fees are paid directly to Squarespace and are separate from my design fees. I’ll walk you through setting this up as part of the process to make it super simple.
Do you offer a Squarespace discount?
Yes! As a Squarespace Circle Member, I can offer you 20% off your first year of Squarespace when you choose an annual plan — plus an extended free trial to give us plenty of time to design your site before it goes live.
Are there any other charges I should be aware of?
There may be a few optional extra costs depending on what you need:
Squarespace Email Campaigns — If you want to send email newsletters through Squarespace, their email marketing plans start from around £TBC/month (on top of your website subscription).
Acuity Scheduling — If you want an advanced booking system, Squarespace's Acuity Scheduling starts from around £TBC/month (depending on the plan and features you need).
Domain name — If you don’t already own a domain, you’ll need to purchase one (typically £15–£25 per year).
Third-party tools — If you choose to use other platforms like Flodesk, Mailchimp, or extra integrations (e.g., for forms or memberships), those may also have monthly fees.
I’ll always make sure you know what’s needed for your specific site and budget before we start.
I don’t have a domain name yet — can you help?
Yes! I can guide you through buying and setting up a domain — whether you want to purchase one through Squarespace or another provider like Ionos or GoDaddy. If you already have a domain, I’ll help connect it to your new site.
Can I add extra features later if I start with a simple site?
Absolutely! You can start with a one-page website and add extra pages or features as your business grows. I offer a range of custom additions (like shops, booking systems, blogs, and more) that can be added anytime.
What if I don’t have images or text ready?
No worries! I’ll give you a clear guide on what’s needed and help you figure out what to say if writing isn’t your thing. If you need stock images, I can source these for you, and if you’d like help with text, I can recommend copywriters.
Do you offer ongoing support or updates after launch?
Once your site is launched, you’ll have full control to update it — but if you need help down the line, I offer custom additions and small updates as part of my services. You can book me for one-off tweaks, new pages, or feature upgrades anytime.
Do you offer branding or logo design too?
I don’t currently offer full brand design, but if you need help sourcing simple Canva-based logos or temporary graphics to get started, I can include that as a custom addition. For full brand identity design, I’m happy to recommend designers I trust.
